Murry Looking:

With the NASCAR ‘silly season in full swing, road racing veteran David Murry hopes to get in on the action real soon. The former Porsche factory driver is currently eyeing a handful of openings in CTS for the 2001 season. ‘I’d love to get my foot in NASCAR’s door with a ride in the truck series, said the Atlanta resident. ‘It’s such a competitive series. It’s a series you can use as a stepping stone into Busch or Winston Cup. Look at Greg Biffle and Kurt Busch and what that series did for them in a short amount of time. I know there are a handful of teams still looking for qualified drivers and it’s my intention to contact each of them. Murry (www.davidmurry.com) is coming off a productive season in the American Le Man Series where he drove for a Porsche 911 GT3R race team. But, despite the sports car success, the ultimate objective remains a ride in one of NASCAR’s premier series. ‘That’s it, he added. ‘I have had my share of stock car racing over the years with ARCA and Winston Cup (in 1999, he qualified and finished the Watkins Glen race with Phoenix Air Racing out of Cartersville, GA). I know that’s where I want to be.(K-G PR)(11-17-2000)
