NASCAR officials announced today they have penalized NASCAR Busch Series driver Ryan Newman(#02 Alltel) for driving into another competitor’s car(#66-Tim Fedawa) after the completion of Saturday’s SunCom 300 at Darlington Raceway in Darlington, S.C. Newman, driver of the #02 NASCAR Busch Series team, was fined $5,000 and placed on probation until Dec. 31, 2001. Newman was penalized under Section 12-4-A in the 2001 NASCAR Busch Series rule book: “Actions detrimental to stock car racing…” AND NASCAR officials announced today they have penalized NASCAR Busch Series driver Tim Fedewa for driving into another competitor’s car after the completion of Saturday’s SunCom 300 at Darlington Raceway in Darlington, S.C. Fedewa, driver of the No. 66 NASCAR Busch Series team, was fined $5,000.
