Kmart to Re-new? UPDATE: #26-Jimmy Spencer and #66-Todd Bodine may have added incentive this spring, with word that K-Mart officials are now interested in renewing their sponsorship contract with car owner Travis Carter. Bodine opened the season strong, and the last few weeks, teammate Spencer has been a headliner too(Winston Salem Journal) UPDATE: I hear Kmart is showing an interest in staying in stock car racing but isn’t necessarily locked into Travis Carter’s team(#’s 26 and 66) after the contract runs out at the end of next year. They have already put “feelers” out with several teams. They aren’t definitely gone from Carter’s team but they aren’t definitely staying either. They have come a long way from trying to sell the sponsorship and trying to get out of it to now seeing if there isn’t a good way for them to stay in(5-7-2001)
