Sad News: Helen Hornaday, mother of Winston Cup driver Ron Hornaday, died early Saturday morning in California. She was 72 and had been ill for several years. Funeral arrangements were incomplete. Ron Hornaday spent part of the past week with his mother and returned to Charlotte to compete in Saturday’s Winston Open. He will return to California sometime Sunday(That’s Racin’), condolences to family and friends(5-19-2001)
