Pit Crew Challenge: Steve Park’s pit crew earned a $7,000 paycheck, winning the fourth annual Coca-Cola Racing Family pit crew challenge at the Food Lion Speed Street in downtown Charlotte. Each participating pit crew completed one stationary, four-tire stop on a Coca-Cola car, then raced across the finish line to stop the clock. The #1 crew earned the first-place cash prize. “I can only hope our pit stops will be this good on Sunday,” said crew chief Paul Andrews. “Getting to victory lane twice would make this a great weekend.” Dale Jarrett’s #88 pit crew finished second, earning a $3,000 cash prize as runners-up. Competitors included pit crews from the following teams: Bobby Labonte, Dale Jarrett, Tony Stewart, Jeff Burton, Kyle Petty, Ricky Rudd, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Michael Waltrip, Steve Park, John Andretti and Andy Houston(That’s Racin’)(5-26-2001)
