Bruised Ribs for Jarrett:

Bruised Ribs for Jarrett: X-rays taken Tuesday showed that Dale Jarrett does not have a broken rib, according to a team spokesperson. Instead, the NASCAR Winston Cup points leader has bruised ribs. His injury is diagnosed as serratus anterior muscle tear. The type of injury Jarrett has normally takes three to four weeks to heal. The planned treatment is for localized nerve blocks to prevent Jarrett from experiencing the pain when he’s driving. The team has no plans for a relief driver at this point.(RacingExtra)(5-30-2001)
