Wood 2nd in Winston West race at Kansas, Jarrett wins ARCA race: Jon Wood, son of the #21 Cup team owner Eddie Wood, started from the pole in his third Winston West Series race at the new Kansas Speedway and finished in the runner-up spot in the #50 AutoConcierge Ford. The race was won by Frank Kimmel, who may try some Cup races this year with his own team. Jon Wood began racing go-carts when he was 12-years old and has steadily moved through to the competitive stock car ranks. He competed in the USAR ProCup Series last year finishing eighth in the championship points race and third in the rookie standings. Wood is slated to join Roush Racing next season as a driver in the CTS(Wood Brothers PR) AND Jason Jarrett bolted past Frank Kimmel Saturday afternoon with four laps left to win the BPU 200, the inaugural ARCA RE/MAX Series event at Kansas Speedway. Jarrett, a rookie of the year candidate in the ARCA RE/MAX Series, scored his first win in the series. Jarrett, who drives the #67 ML Motorsports Chevrolet, only led seven of the race’s 134 laps(PR), #02-Ryan Newman was the pole sitter but hit the wall and finished 20th(6-3-2001)
