On Sept. 8, 2001 during the Chevrolet Monte Carlo 400 with the Looney Tunes at Richmond International Raceway, several Team Monte Carlo drivers from Richard Childress Racing, Hendrick Motorsports, Dale Earnhardt Inc., and Andy Petree Racing will shed their typical paint schemes for race cars featuring that “wascally wabbit” Bugs Bunny, Tweety Bird, Yosemite Sam, Elmer Fudd, the Tasmanian Devil and many more zany cartoon favorites. “One thing always has been true about racing-it is a sport that families enjoy together,” said Fred Wagenhals, Action’s chairman, president and chief executive officer. “There is no better way to showcase the family institution than bringing a true slice of Americana-the Looney Tunes-to the racetrack. No matter if you are 2 or 92, the Looney Tunes can make everyone feel a little bit like a kid again. This simply is a wonderful, fun program, and I am glad Action Performance is part of it.” The Looney Tunes characters themselves will be on hand before the race greeting fans while many of the day’s festivities also will center on children and families. Additionally, a special event car displaying the Looney Tunes characters will be created for the event(Action Performance Companies PR), see all 7 images of the cars on my Paint Scheme Gallery(6-7-2001)
