Hornaday III to debut

Ronnie Hornaday III will make his BGN debut in the inaugural Outback 300 at Kentucky. Hornaday III, who has competed in 10 CTS races, will drive a second Foyt Racing entry for the event. “I’m looking forward to racing at Kentucky,” said Hornaday III, who will be driving the #41 Foyt Racing Chevrolet Monte Carlo. “I was able to get some test laps around here last summer. This track is fast, and we should put on a great show for the spectators.” This will be Hornaday III’s first start at Kentucky Speedway, and his second race event in the state of Kentucky. “I raced in the last NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event at Louisville Speedway,” said the Palmdale, CA native. Kevin Cram will be the crew chief for the Kentucky race, and Lucas Oil Products will be an associate sponsor. “Bob Patison and Lucas Oil Products have been behind me all season. I also want to thank AJ and Lucy Foyt for providing me with this opportunity to race, and David Evans for giving us the engine support,” said Hornaday III. In 2001, Hornaday III has competed in four CTS events, driving the #94 Chevy Silverado owned by father Ron Jr., and mother Lindy. The Outback 300 marks the first appearance of the Hornaday name in a BGN race this season.(PR)(6-14-2001)
