Bickle in the #50 at Indy, after that?

Bickle in the #50 at Indy, after that? Rick Mast and Midwest Transit Racing have parted ways. Mast was a valuable asset to our team. Mast wanted to compete in all the races this season and at this time we could not commit to that. The team is proud to have Rich Bickle driving for them at Indy in the Brickyard 400. With his experience and knowledge adding to the team, they expect to have a successful run at Indy. This is a one race deal with Bickle at this time. After Indy all will evaluate the race and hopefully put a program together with Bickle. The team is taking the car that was tested at Indy on July 16th and 17th and were very happy with as it ended up 25th in combined test results. The Midwest Transit team also announced that they will have Speedway Records as a sponsor at Indy. Speedway Records was originally founded by Ned Jarrett in 1959. Today, it is a partnership of Wallace Barr Entertainment Group, Inc, Lowery Music Group, Speedway Motorsports, and three other individuals. They were basically given the label by Ned to revitalize it. They are distributing through Walmart and all NASCAR tracks, as well as wholesaling to racing oriented third parties vendors. There first CD is “Thunder Road”, featuring The Charlie Daniels Band, The Atlanta Rhythm Section, The Kentucky Headhunters, Tralena, Tim Wilson, and The Marshall Tucker Band. The label is donating $1.00 per CD to the Speedway Children’s Charities as well.(Midwest Transit PR)(7-31-2001)
