Murry to drive at The Glen? UPDATE:

Murry to drive at The Glen? UPDATE: Hearing that veteran road racer David Murry is in negotiations with a single-car Winston Cup operation to run a second car for him at Watkins Glen next month. An Atlanta resident, Murry last drove in a Cup race at Watkins Glen in 1999 for an ARCA team. He got in the show on time and ran as high as eighth, before suffering an oil line problem and finishing 36th. Along with fellow road racers Ron Fellows and Boris Said, Murry has been competing in both the American Le Mans Series and the Grand Am Series this season(7-11-2001) UPDATE: It appears David Murry’s inclusion in the road course specialists group at Watkins Glen will not happen. The sports car ace, who last competed in a Winston Cup car at The Glen in 1999, apparently got real close to signing with a team, but the team’s sponsor felt obligated to its full-time driver. Murry, however, will still be at The Glen this weekend for the Grand Am race and will likely network around the NASCAR garage, looking for any last minute driver changes(8-9-2001)
