Jarrett in the Hospital UPDATE released Sunday: Dale Jarrett was listed in fair condition at Kansas University Medical Center following a hard crash on Lap 247 of Sunday’s Protection One 400 at Kansas Speedway. Jarrett was airlifted to the hospital and was awake and alert when transported. He briefly lost consciousness in his car. He also complained of pain in his right arm. Jarrett was scheduled to receive a CT scan late Sunday and the track was awaiting word of the results.(9-30-2001) UPDATE: Winston Cup driver Dale Jarrett was released after he was examined at Kansas University Medical Center following a hard crash on Lap 247 of Sunday’s Protection One 400 at Kansas Speedway.
