#31 News? When Mike Skinner vacated his Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet for season-ending knee surgery, Robby Gordon was named as his replacement. Yet Gordon, who failed to qualify for the UAW-GM Quality 500, may be replaced by Rick Mast at Martinsville – at least for qualifying. And Gordon will likely miss next month’s race at Homestead, due to a commitment to run the Baja 1000 off-road race. This in the wake of speculation that RCR may try to sign Jeremy Mayfield to drive the #31 entry in 2002.
