Elliott gets a present: Bill Elliott, who turned 46 on Monday, got a thrill ride as a birthday present from his car owner Ray Evernham. Evernham presented Elliott with a certificate for Dale Blaney’s Outlaw Driving Experience. Blaney, a former sprint car racer who now drives the #93 on the Winston Cup Series, also runs a company that offers rides in sprint cars. Evernham said a few laps in a sprint car should help Elliott with his new hobby — driving a dirt Late Model.(AJC) (10-12-2001)
