Pettys quickest lap around the 1.54-mile quad-oval was 29.2 seconds (189.863 mph). Pettys laps were the quickest of the fall testing period and are not far off last springs pole run, recorded by Dale Jarrett, was 28.76 seconds (192.748 mph).
