#68 News: TWC Motorsport Ltd. confirmed today that driver Anthony Lazzaro will not be with the team for the 2002 Winston Cup Series, opting instead for a full time ride in the IRL series. Team Owner Tom Coleman stated that he and Lazzaro had discussed the upcoming season and had mutually agreed that it was in Lazzaro’s best interest for him to pursue his opportunities in the IRL. Coleman also stated that Lazzaro is a talented driver and wishes him nothing but the best with his new team. TWC Motorsport Ltd. is actively talking to a number of drivers to pilot their #68 Chevy in the 2002 season. The team has yet to land primary sponsorship for the 15-event schedule it intends to run this year; however, Coleman is confident a marketing partner will emerge from the myriad of contacts that will be able to take advantage of the opportunities TWC Motorsport Ltd. offers. The team continues moving forward with its research and development program having just returned from a very encouraging wind tunnel test at Langley Air Force Base. “From a technical standpoint, our team is ready to compete,” Coleman said.
