Hermie Sadler to run at Lowes: #02-Hermie Sadler announced today that his team would compete in the Winston Open this Saturday at Lowe’s Motor Speedway. Sadler, who is coming off an impressive 18th place finish at Richmond, thinks the Winston Open is a big opportunity for him and his team. According to Sadler, “Every time I go to the track I am auditioning for a ride and there’s no bigger stage than Lowe’s Motor Speedway and the Winston. Silly season is starting early this year and so far my name hasn’t been mentioned and a good run at Charlotte may change that.” Sadler had a sponsor lined up for both the Winston Open and the Coca-Cola 600, but as has happened frequently, the money did not come through. “It’s tough right now but we just have to keep digging,” stated Sadler. “People need to know that I want to race and race competitively. If no sponsor is found, we will run the Open and then make a decision about the 600. Maybe our performance in The Winston Open will lure a sponsor for the 600.”(Elliott Sadler Enterprises PR)(5-13-2002)
