Marcis Honored: Dave Marcis has been named the recipient of the National Motorsports Press Association/Pocono Spirit Award for the first quarter of 2002. Marcis, 61, retired as a driver following the Daytona 500, but continues to field the #71 Marcis Auto Racing Chevy in selected events. The award recognizes character and achievement in the face of adversity, sportsmanship and contributions to motorsports and is voted on by the NMPA press membership.(Winston Cup Scene – need sub to read)(5-16-2002)
