No #26 in the Winston/Open UPDATE Kimmel’s last race in the #26 at Lowes: The #26 Haas-Carter Motorsports team will run the Coca Cola 600 with Frank Kimmer, who has been in the car for most of the recent Cup races, but the team will NOT run in The Winston.(FSN’s Totally NASCAR)(5-15-2002) UPDATE: Three-time ARCA champ Frank Kimmel said next week’ Coca-Cola 600 at Lowe’ Motor Speedway will be his final appearance in Cup series this season with Travis Carter Enterprises #26 Ford. Kimmel, with assistance from his sponsors in the ARCA series, has entered four events this season with Carter, who lost primary sponsor Kmart after it filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. The 600 is the end of our sponsorship deal with Travis. It’ been a very educational run for me, Kimmel said. We havent had the success that we wanted. Weve had some problems, some driver-induced and some car-induced. It’ been a learning experience. I think Im a lot better ARCA racer because of it. We dont know what’ going to happen in the future.(ThatsRacin.com)(5-16-2002)
