Mobile Home Destroyed – car/people ok UPDATE: A popular part of this weekend’s “Pocono 500” almost didn’t make it to the track. A 42-foot mobile home headed to the track somehow caught fire this afternoon along the north-bound [PA] turnpike extension in Carbon County. It was towing a trailer and inside the trailer was NASCAR’s famous [Fox] “cutaway car”, the car you’ve seen on NASCAR [Fox] broadcasts demonstrating race safety features. Everyone in the motor home was able to get out safely and they dragged the car to safety but the motor home was destroyed and the trailer was heavily damaged.(WBRE-TV)(6-4-2002) UPDATE: The Motorhome that burned on Hwy 465 Tuesday carrying the “cut-a-way” car was that of Carolyn Carrier, PR person for Brett Bodine Racing, and her husband. Everything was lost. AND see a story at the Times News: A total loss.(6-6-2002)
