Rusty and Insurance: The announcement last week that Britney Spears will star in a NASCAR-themed movie has created a buzz on the circuit, as well as some skepticism about what kind of film is planned. But Rusty Wallace said he would love a cameo. But it’s not because he wants any added exposure. Wallace said he spends about $250,000 a year on health and disability insurance. But Wallace is a member of the Screen Actors Guild, and that means the union’s insurance helps knock down his expenses when he’s actively working in front of the camera. “`That’s the only reason I did `Days of Thunder,’ to keep up the insurance,” Wallace said, referring to the 1990 NASCAR movie starring Tom Cruise.(Mercury News)(6-23-2002)
