The Lamb and Robinson Motorsports team will be in Jefferson, Ga., on Saturday for its fourth Hooters ProCup race, but bigger things are in its future. Crew chief Jamie Mosley says the Chesapeake-based team has ordered a new Busch Grand National car for Joe Gaita to drive in selected events. Their first Busch effort has not been set, but Mosley said the team is committed to compete in all remaining Hooters South races this season. “There is no doubt that technology learned by running in the Busch series will help the team in the Hooters series,” Mosley said. “The cars are basically the same.” Mosley’s plan is to enter Busch races only on tracks of three-quarters of a mile to 1.5 miles. That would include Richmond, Charlotte and Dover. The Lamb and Robinson team began the season racing for the Late Model Stock championship with driver Phil Warren. The emphasis changed to the Hooters circuit after Warren resigned and Gaita was hired to replaced him. The team still has the LMS car but has raced it only once since Warren left.(Virginian Pilot)(7-12-2002)
