Using a backup truck, #2-Jason Leffler won his eighth CTS pole of the season by winning the pole at Richmond for Thursday night’s Virginia is for Lovers 200. Leffler had wrecked his primary truck during Thursday afternoon’s practice session. Using his backup, he still turned a lap at 123.378 mph, setting a track record in the process. #16-Mike Bliss is 2nd, 3rd is Lefflers teammate #1-Ted Musgrave followed by #14-Rick Crawford and #29-Terry Cook.
