#99-Michael Waltrip ran a track-record lap at 174.831mph to win the pole for Saturday’s Mr. Goodcents 300 at Kansas Speedway. It is his first BGN pole of 2002 and first since Richmond on Sept. 5, 1997. His previous best start this season was second last month at Michigan. #9-Jeff Burton was second, #92-Todd Bodine third, #1-Jimmy Spencer was fourth and #57-Jason Keller was fifth. CART driver #30-Christian Fittipaldi qualified for his second BGN race this year and will start 32nd.
