Roush Engine Problems at Kansas: Jeff Paxton, head engine tuner for Roush Racing, said the three Roush cars that had engine failures last weekend at Kansas City all had different problems with the valve train. He said Martin’s engine suffered a broken rocker arm. Jeff Burton’s engine broke a valve, and Kurt Busch ‘s engine broke a rocker arm stud. Paxton said he had not seen those problems this season until last weekend. Since those engines are similar to what the team will use at Charlotte next weekend, he’ll have changes made. “The Charlotte motors are already built but we’re going to change items Monday or Tuesday to hopefully prevent another failure from happening,” he said.(Roanoke Times)(10-5-2002) (10-4-2002)
