PPI Tests 2003 Pontiac: PPI Motorsports, which will run Pontiacs next season, built a downforce and superspeedway Grand Prix and tested both at the wind tunnel. Driver Ricky Craven ran 10 laps in the downforce car last week at Homestead and was scheduled to test the other car at Talladega. Owner Cal Wells expects the team’s first in-house engine to be completed by December. Richard Childress Racing will build the team’s restrictor-plate engines.(Sporting News)(10-28-2002)
