Hearing that the Robert Yates-owned #98 team will close down at the end of the season. Team Rensi assumed day-to-day management of the team earlier this year. Driver Kasey Kahne has 18 starts with the first-year team, with a best finish of 10th coming at Michigan. The team was supposed to compete on a full-time basis next season.(11-05-2002)
UPDATE: The #98 team will officially shut down Nov. 30. Kahne is under contract with Ford, so they are helping him find a ride. As reported last week in the Winston Cup Scene, he seems headed for ppc Racing.(11-12-2002)
