UPDATE 2: Team Bristol Motorsports owner Rick Goodwin announced today that Kevin Grubb will not drive for the Toys “R” Us sponsored # 54 BGN car in 2003. Goodwin and Grubb were unable to come to terms on a contract for the upcoming season and have agreed to part ways. Grubb was hired to drive for the team early in the 2002 season and competed in 30 races, recording a top finish of third at Gateway International Raceway. “I want to thank Kevin for driving for us this past year and wish him luck this next season,” Goodwin said. “We were hoping to extend our relationship, but were unable to come to an agreement. I am now in the process of interviewing drivers for the 2003 season.” Goodwin hopes to have a driver in place by the Daytona test session in early January. “I enjoyed driving for Team Bristol Motorsports this past year and want to thank everyone involved with the organization,” Grubb said. “Rick Goodwin hired me early on in the year and we had some great runs, nearly wining a couple of races.” Team Bristol Motorsports will enter its third year of Busch Series competition with the season opening Daytona Beach race on February 15th.(Team Bristol PR)(12-31-2002)
