New BGN Team UPDATE:

James Burr, founder and Chief Executive Officer of National Peening Inc., has launched a two car team which will advance on the BGN in 2003. Burr Motorsports (BMS) will run a limited schedule in 2003, with plans to run a complete schedule in 2004. Burr’s personal experience in building his own race cars, combines with his business expertise in perfecting and utilizing the shot peening process. “I’ve been involved in racing from the outside for a long time,” Burr says. “I think now is a great time to be involved in this exciting sport and I am proud to be putting together a team that I expect to see in the Winner’s Circle within the year.” Burr Motorsports will enter a two-car team in 2003. Negotiations are currently underway with drivers as well as sponsors, and an announcement is expected soon. All administrative staff are in place, and road and shop crews are currently being assembled. The team will be based out of a 10,000 square foot facility in China Grove, NC; construction to add an additional 4,000 square feet is currently underway. Sponsorship opportunities are available. UPDATEL Burr Motorsports has announced plans to run in the Pepsi 300 on April 12, 2003 at the Nashville Superspeedway. The car will be driven by Conrad Burr and sponsored by National Peening Inc. Plans are underway to run at least five additional races during the 2003 season, while adding a second car to the schedule at some point during the year. A Driver for the second car has not yet been selected, however, some top-name BGN drivers have talked with Burr and are being considered. Sponsorship talks continue with several companies seriously considering the opportunity with Burr Motorsports, and an announcement is expected soon..
