Robby Benton has opted to leave Ken Alexander Racing due to lack of sponsorship. Robby will join his crew chief and now car owner David Lackey of the newly formed Lackey Motorsports as the driver of the number 85 Chevy Monte Carlo. The teams’s first race will be the O’Reilly 300 at Texas Motor Speedway in March. The team has secured sponsorship for that event and will make an announcement regarding that sponsor soon. The team is still actively seeking sponsorship for the remainder of the season and plans to run the remaining races on the 2003 Busch Series schedule.
