NASCAR announced today an amendment of the rule governing the measurement of 2001-2002 and 2003 Chevrolet truck front air dams in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, effective May 28. The rule, 20B3.1.1, covers the leading edge of the air dam or kick-out as it extends forward of the front bumper. Chevrolets from the 2001-2002 model year may not extend more than two inches forward of the leading edge of the bumper while the 2003 Chevrolet may measure no more than 2 inches. The previous measurements were three inches for the 2001-2002 model year and 1 inches for the 2003 model.(NASCAR PR)(5-22-2003)
