Leader bonus has been won. It’s been 43 races since the NASCAR Winston Cup points leader won a race and took home the NASCAR Winston Cup Leader Bonus. Matt Kenseth and Dale Earnhardt Jr. continue to pace the field in the battle for the Winston Cup. Entering the race at Dover, 160 points separate the two. If the winner at Dover is also the NASCAR Winston Cup points leader at the conclusion of the event, he would take home the $130,000 check, as long as Kenseth starts at Dover, he is the only driver who can leave the track leading the points. Sterling Marlin last won the award, $20,000 at Darlington on March 17, 2002, it was NOT won by #15-Waltrip at Daytona, it rolled over to Rockingham.(5-26-2003)
