Mike Skinner is not surprised he was let go by Morgan-McClure Racing because he said this is a performance business and the bottom line is we weren’t performing…primarily on Friday’s. Skinner thinks his former team has great race cars and hopes they have success and that “I’m a damn good racecar driver and I’m gonna find a job and maybe it’ll work out better for both of us.” Skinner says “I’d love to drive a Winston Cup car next year but I’d also love to go back to the truck series. I would rather be in a competitive situation. I’m not gonna take any long term commitments unless I know it’s got a chance to win races and finish high in the points. I would step down a class or two because sometimes steppin’ down is steppin’ up.”( PRN’s Garagepass radio show )(6-21-2003)
