New Childress Driver UPDATE:

Mardy Lindley has an oral agreement with veteran NASCAR team owner Richard Childress to run Richard Childress Racing Busch cars in a few races this season, with a busier schedule to follow next year if the stars align themselves properly. Lindley is one of the top drivers in USAR and a championship threat again this year despite missing the season’s first race. (Greenville News via BGN Racing)(5-8-2003)
UPDATE: Mardy Lindley plans to make his NASCAR Busch series debut in the Kroger 200 Aug. 2 at Indianapolis Raceway Park. The race will be the first of what could be several this season for Lindley in cars owned by veteran NASCAR team owner Richard Childress. Lindley will attempt to qualify a #29 Chevy, a third entry for RCR at the .686-mile track. The team plans to run two days of tests at IRP July 14-15 to give Lindley some seat time in the car. Lindley said the team could run several more races this year if sponsorship money is found.(Greenville News via BGNRacing.com)(7-5-2003)
