Wood is on the pole at Kentucky:

#50-Jon Wood, coming off his first NASCAR Truck series win last week, earned his second career pole Friday night for the Built Ford Tough 225 with a qualifying record for the series of 169.641mph at Kentucky Speedway. Bryan Reffner had held the record after a 168.46-mph lap in June 2000. #4-Bobby Hamilton will start on the outside of the front row after a lap of 169.513mph. #18-Chad Chaffin qualified third with a lap of 168.734, followed by #2-Jason Leffler at 168.219 and #99-Carl Edwards at 167.926. #99-Carl Edwards had trouble during Friday afternoon’s practice session, forcing him to go to his backup engine and delaying his qualifying run until the final minutes of the session. Because of the change, Edwards will start at the back of the 36-truck field Saturday. That’s the same scenario Wood faced in Kansas. #15-Mike Skinner qualified 10th. Series points leader Travis Kvapil was 14th in qualifying, with a lap at 165.899.(ThatsRacin.com/AP)
