Former Truck Series driver, Rick Carelli will drive the #4 RE/MAX sponsored Chevy at Pikes Peak International Raceway on July 26th. “I’ve been racing with Rick since the 1990’s back on the short tracks in St. Louis,” said Mike Wallace who has driven the #4 car in 19 Busch races this year. “I’ve raced with Rick on and off since that time. On the West coast, he was nicknamed the “High Plains Drifter” because he’d go anywhere to race,” Wallace continued. “He’s a very good racer and overall a really good guy.” Carelli is an accomplished veteran with four Truck Series victories. Prior to joining the Truck Series, Carelli won championships in the NASCAR Winston West Series and Featherlite Southwest Series, before making a short-lived stint in Winston Cup. Carelli, an Arvada, CO native will make his 1000th career start while driving the #4 RE/MAX sponsored machine; a first for the duo in the Busch Series. “I just want to thank Mike and Biagi Bros Racing for giving me an opportunity to compete in a top notch Busch car in front of my home town!”, said Carelli. “This is a great way to celebrate my 1000th race with RE/MAX and everyone else who has supported my career over the years.” Wallace will return to the helm of the #4 car at Indianapolis Raceway Park on Saturday, August 2, 2003.
