One moment rookie #99-Carl Edwards was fighting hard to hold off veteran #14-Rick Crawford, and the next Edwards was sailing to his second Truck Series victory of the season. Crawford was closing fast on Edwards with nine of 200 laps remaining in Friday night’s Power Stroke Diesel 200 at Indianapolis Raceway Park, when Crawford suddenly slowed on the frontstretch, his Ford out of fuel. Edwards then gained a two-second advantage over his next-closest competitor, #2-Jason Leffler, who also ran out of fuel. Edwards ended up holding off a fast-charging #16-Travis Kvapil by 0.617 seconds for the win. #4-Bobby Hamilton finished third, #62-Brendan Guaghan fourth and #50-Jon Wood completed the top-five. Kvapil takes over the series points lead fron Gaughan. The race was slowed six times by caution for 25 laps. There were three lead changes among three drivers. #17-Darrell Waltrip finished 29th with suspension problems in the Give the Kids the World/Tide Chevy.(Thatsracin.com)
