Saturday night’s 500-lap race at Bristol Motor Speedway will mark #5-Terry Labonte’s 50th start on the lightning-fast half-mile oval and his 350th race behind the wheel of a Kellogg’s-sponsored Chevrolet. Of Labonte’s 49 previous starts at Bristol, 21 have been with Kellogg’s on board. Labonte has now gone 29 consecutive races without a DNF , a personal career high. The last time he failed to finish was last fall’s event at Talladega, Ala. His streak is currently the second longest in the series behind only Michael Waltrip, who has completed 33 straight. Labonte remains one of only four drivers who have completed every race this year; the others being Kevin Harvick, Matt Kenseth and Waltrip. The modern-era record is 56, set by Jeff Gordon in 2001-02.( HMS PR )(8-22-2003)
