Mark McFarland, who has eight career Busch Series starts, will take a brief break from the Late Model division to make his first career start in the Truck Series on Sept. 4 at Richmond International Raceway. McFarland is closing in on the first of what he hopes will be two NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series championships. With five weeks of competition left in the season, McFarland holds an imposing lead in the Atlantic Region. But hes not banking on it just yet. Its been going pretty good, McFarland said. We should clinch it if we have another good weekend.
