#97-Kurt Busch and #15-Michael Waltrip are scheduled to take part in a Goodyear tire test at Daytona on Sept.8-9. Phil Holmer, Goodyear’s marketing manager for stock-car racing, said the company is looking at changing its compound for that track. Holmer also said that whoever does Goodyear’s tire test at the redesigned Homestead-Miami Speedway later this year won’t be in the points race. Goodyear and NASCAR officials don’t want a driver in a points race to have an advantage over the rest of the field.( Roanoke Times )(8-30-2003)
