Steve Grissom is testing the #61 DCT Motorsports Chevrolet today (Tuesday September 2) at Peach State Speedway in Jefferson, Ga. in hopes of making the field for Friday night’s Busch Series race at Richmond. Veteran crew chief Ricky Pearson is working with Grissom today during the test session. Peach State Speedway hosted a Busch Series race in 1986 and two more in 1987. The track is a half-mile in length with 18 degrees of banking in the corners. Today, the track regularly runs local shows (late models, etc) twice each month in addition to hosting two USAR Hooters Pro Cup races each season. Grissom will likely make the field for Friday night’s race irregardless of how well he qualifies. With 53 cars on the entry list, he should be eligible for a past champion’s provisional. He is the 1993 Busch Series champ.(9-2-2003)
