Musgrave wins at California:

#1-Ted Musgrave won the American Racing Wheels 200 at California Speedway Saturday, the third time in a row Musgrave has won the race. It is Mugrave’s third won of 2003 and 13th career Truck Series win. Pole sitter, #62-Brendan Gaughan led three times for 66 laps and finished 2nd with two deflating tires. Musgrave equaled the record of three wins in a row at the same track set in 1997 and 1998 by Jack Sprague and equaled by Gaughan at Texas Motor Speedway since coming into the series in 2002. Musgrave’s winning speed of 145.926mph broke the truck series track record of 144.260 and is the second fastest in series history. The race was slowed by only two cautions for a total of eight laps. #46-Dennis Setzer finished third, followed by #14-Rick Crawford, #75-David Starr, #2-Andy Houston and #99-Carl Edwards. #16-Travis Kvapil, second in the season standings, finished eighth and slipped to 42 points behind Gaughan with seven races remaining. Third-place Musgrave remained 62 points behind because he and Gaughan, who got a five-point bonus for leading the most laps, came out of the race with the same point total.(ThatsRacin.com/AP)
