#99-Michael Waltrip won the pole for Saturday’s Mr. Goodcents 300 at Kansas Speedway with a new track record with his lap at 178.365 mph, earning his second Busch Series pole of the season (his last was at Richmond, Va., in May) and the 15th of his career. #38-Kasey Kahne was second fastest and #37-David Green was third. Among the five drivers still in the hunt for the series championship, Green, fourth in points, was the top qualifier. Series points leader #5-Brian Vickers will line up 17th; second place #10-Scott Riggs, eighth; third-place #2-Ron Hornaday Jr., ninth; and fifth-place #57-Jason Keller, 23rd. #20-Mike Bliss qualified fourth and #59-Stacy Compton rounded out the top-five.
