Salder speaks about rescue at Talladega:

Elliott Sadler adler said he met with NASCAR officials Friday morning to thank them for a two-week-old rule preventing cars from racing back to the yellow flag, saying he felt that greatly reduced the time it took rescue workers to get to him once his car finished five snap rolls that followed a one-and-a-half somersault in the #38 M&M’s Ford. But he also pressed those officials on the issue of having a traveling team of doctors to supervise medical care of drivers at each NASCAR track. “One thing I would really like to see, and we’re all asking for it, is to have some doctors in the infield care center who we know and who travel with this sport,” Sadler said. “To have somebody there who knows me and knows that I don’t like needles – some people are just scared of certain things, and I’m scared of needles.”(See more on the ThatsRacing.com )(10-4-2003)
