Toyota officials are talking to Irving resident David Starr about being one of their drivers next year in the inaugural season for Toyota in the Truck Series. Starr met with Larry McReynolds Tuesday in Charlotte. McReynolds, a former Winston Cup crew chief and a color analyst for Fox, will be one of the team owners for Toyota. McReynolds will have a two-truck team. He already has signed Mike Skinner as one of his drivers. Starr drives the #75 Spears Manufacturing Chevy in the NCTS for team owner Wayne Spears. Starr feels a lot of loyalty to Spears, but McReynolds and Toyota may make him an offer he can’t refuse.(Dallas Morning News)(10-17-2003)
