#38-Kasey Kahne [with Ray Evernham spotting] held off #8-Martin Truex Jr. to win Saturday’s Ford 300 season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway, while 20-year-old #5-Brian Vickers grabbed the NASCAR Busch Series championship. It was Kahne’s first career Busch Series win. Truex Jr. ended up 2nd, followed by #25-Bobby Hamilton Jr., #00-Jason Leffler and #46-Ashton Lewis. Vickers finished 11th hold off #37-David Green, who finished 9th and 14 points behind Vickers on the points. There were six drivers with a mathematical chance at the series title entering Saturday’s race. #2-Ron Hornaday ended up third, 46 points back after finishing 15th. The Busch Series championship was the first for Hendrick Motorsports and becomes the third team to win a championship in each of the three Nationals Series [Cup,Busch,Truck] along with Richard Childress Racing and Roush Racing.
