Legendary golfer Arnold Palmer, whose popularity transcends the sport of golf, will enter his 50th consecutive Masters tournament in Augusta, GA in April 2004. To commemorate this historic event, Dale Jarrett, an avid golfer and the driver of the #88 UPS Ford Taurus, will drive a special golf-themed race car in the March 14, Golden Corral 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway. The special UPS/Arnold Palmer paint scheme will be debuted to the public at 10:00am/et on Tuesday, December 9, at www.racing.ups.com . Jarrett’s No. 88 Ford from Robert Yates Racing will feature a special green-and-white paint scheme for the race. “He is someone I have looked up to and respected my entire life,” Jarrett, who is well known in NASCAR circles for his golfing prowess, says of Palmer. The special tribute is being planned to coincide with Palmer’s 50th appearance in the prestigious Masters tournament at Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia, an event he has won four times.
