Boris is a Dad:

  • Road race specialist Boris Said became a first-time father Jan. 23 when his son, Boris Said Jr., was born at Scripps Hospital in Carlsbad, Calif. Boris Jr. weighed in at 7 pounds, 6 ounces and measured 20 inches long. When asked the obvious question, Boris explained, “Not quite a ‘fro, but he had a good amount of hair,” a reference to Said’s trademark bushy-hair afro look. Said added, “Mother (Deanne Gray) and son are doing great.” Along with competing in this weekend’s Rolex 24 At Daytona, Said will also compete in the Feb. 7th Budweiser Shootout, driving the #01 U.S. Army/MB2 Chevrolet. Said earned the invitation as a result of qualifying on the pole in the Army car at last year’s NASCAR Cup road race in Sonoma. The Budweiser Shootout at Daytona International Speedway will be Said’s first NASCAR superspeedway race.(US Army PR)(1-28-2004)
