  • · 21 drivers have competed in every NASCAR Nextel Cup race at LVMS. Three of those drivers (Skinner, Spencer and Kenny Wallace) are not entered this year.
    · Michael Waltrip and Joe Nemechek have started every Nextel Cup and Busch race ever held at LVMS. They are both entered in both races this year as well.
    · No driver qualifying in the top five has ever won a Nextel Cup race at LVMS. Mark Martin won from seventh in 1998.
    · There will be three Las Vegas-born drivers (Kurt Busch, Kyle Busch and Brendan Gaughan) competing in this year’s race.
    · John Andretti, Ricky Craven, Ricky Rudd, Ken Schrader and Kenny Wallace have competed in every Nextel Cup race at LVMS but have no Top-10 finishes. [Andretti and Wallace will not run the Cup race]
    · Jack Roush has posted wins at LVMS with three different drivers (Martin, J. Burton and Kenseth)
    · Jeff Gordon at 29 is the youngest driver to ever win at LVMS, while Bobby Labonte at 34 was the youngest pole sitter for a Nextel Cup race at LVMS.
    · Tony Stewart and Jason Leffler are the only drivers to compete at LVMS in an Indy Racing League, Busch Series and Nextel Cup event. Leffler also has competed here in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.
    · Rookies have qualified on the front row in two of the past four races. (Scott Pruett in 2000 and Ryan Newman in 2002)
    · Ford has won the four of the first six Nextel Cup races in Las Vegas.
    · There have been six caution flags in each of the past three NNC races at LVMS.
    · Two of the past three UAW-DaimlerChrysler 400 winners have gone on to win the season championship. Jeff Gordon in 2001 and Matt Kenseth in 2003.
    · Two of the last three UAW-DaimlerChrysler 400 winners’ starting spots have coincided with their car number. Jeff Gordon started 24th in 2001 and Matt Kenseth started 17th in 2003.(LVMS PR)(3-3-2004)
