During his second day of testing Wednesday at Atlanta Motor Speedway, #10-Scott Riggs found a faster line around the 1.54-mile speedway as he and two other drivers prepared for the March 12-14 Golden Corral 500 weekend. Riggs was caught on the unofficial stopwatches with a lap time of 29.64 seconds (187.044 mph). Also testing Wednesday were his MB2/MBV teammate Joe Nemechek and NASCAR Craftsman Truck driver Terry Cook, who was shaking down teammate Jason KellerÃÂÃÂs #22 Miller High Life Busch Series car. NemechekÃÂÃÂs fastest lap of the day was 30.15 seconds (183.880 mph), while Cook managed a lap in 31.33 seconds (176.955). Because Cook has never raced at Atlanta Motor Speedway before, his Wednesday test had a dual purpose. Not only was he gathering information for KellerÃÂÃÂs Busch effort, he was also learning a little about AtlantaÃÂÃÂs high-banked speedway. ÃÂÃÂNot much of this will transfer for me into the truck, but at least IÃÂÃÂve got some laps here now and IÃÂÃÂm kind of learning the line,ÃÂÃÂ Cook said. ÃÂÃÂPlus, now I know how to get to the track and where the nearest McDonaldÃÂÃÂs is, so it was a good day for me.ÃÂÃÂ Unofficial Speeds Car#, Driver, speed #10-Scott Riggs, 187.045 #01-Joe Nemechek, 183.880 #22[Busch]-Terry Cook, 176.955.(AMS PR)(3-3-2004)
